REMODEL | SALT LAKE CITY
These clients, a recently married husband and wife, needed to redesign their house in a way that would feel like home to both of them — a place where each partner could experience a familiar welcome and find inspiration to embrace something new. The resulting space embodies their commitment to merging two separate lives without sacrificing either identity.
In addition to a welcoming, functional space that represents the best of both their tastes, the clients also needed somewhere where friends and loved ones could gather. The house required more than just a redesign; it needed a complete metamorphosis. The closed floor plan was opened. The outdated stone of the fireplace was replaced by elegant custom tile and stainless steel. Countertops were upgraded to quartzite, and knotty pine cabinets were transformed into rich walnut. Step by step, the house evolved from a mere living space into a place where its occupants could thrive.
“When making the decision to move forward, there was only one person I wanted to design and oversee this project, and that was Leslie. She immediately took full control of the project, with her staff producing CAD and as-built drawings of the existing house. The project started on schedule and was completed slightly ahead of schedule. This is especially exceptional considering the volume of work accomplished. We love the final product and can’t think of how it could have turned out any better.”

Redesigning the house from the ground up offered the opportunity to sculpt a space that truly reflected the clients’ tastes, needs, and personalities. Leslie preserved the client’s meticulously curated collection of artwork, adapting walls and decor around the existing pieces. She carefully selected the furnishings, each of which was custom-built for their exacting needs.
