Leslie Schofield Studio is looking for a driven and experienced Purchasing Director to work with us in the high-end, luxury residential interior design world. This person is not only incredibly organized, but has an interest in all things interior design and loves to talk the talk! Communicating with vendors, and managing all aspects of procurement is the core of this position.
Our design firm creates a one-of-a-kind vision for each project that embodies the client’s style and taste. Our discerning clientele expects the very best, so our talented team pursues the highest levels of excellence!
This job consists of in-office work and a full time, 8-hour day. Due to the nature of the work, and team collaboration, remote work is not viable for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain vendor relationships
- Create client proposals and invoices
- Receive client payments and apply to proposals
- Handle incoming payments via check and ACH
- Prepare vendor PO’s
- Place orders and pay deposits
- Track orders and shipping; expediting
- Liaison with the receiving warehouse, inspections; claims & repair management
- Provide weekly WIPs to Design Team
- Manage inventory and accessories
- Installation coordination and scheduling
- Manage purchasing assistant(s) tasks
Ideal Experience and Skills:
- 2 to 3 years’ experience or knowledge of procurement processes
- Passion for Interior Design
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Accounting acuity; comfortable with money, numbers, and reconciliations
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all work
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to lead a team, and collaborate with a team
- Proficiency in Google Suite and the ability to learn new software applications quickly
- A proactive and solution-oriented mindset; kind yet assertive
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build positive relationships
- Studio Designer proficiency is a plus!
- Smartsheet experience is a plus!
